Stéphane Cauchies -
An internationally experienced consultant

Stéphane Cauchies has recognized expertise in the art market, built over an international and versatile career.

After obtaining a baccalaureate in commerce in 1991, he trained at ICART (Institut supérieur des carrières artistiques) in Paris, then joined the Hôtel Drouot where he worked with the famous auctioneer Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr.

In 1994, he left for Canada and settled in Montreal, where he joined the Hôtel des Encans alongside Iegor de Saint-Hippolyte. There, he successively headed the rare books, historical documents, Asian art, and curiosities and collectibles departments.

For thirteen years, Stéphane made a string of historical discoveries and remarkable sales, collaborated with major institutions, and appeared regularly on radio and television. Eager to broaden his scope, he then turned to contemporary art and directed the Orange Gallery on Saint-Paul Street in Montreal, participating in several international art fairs.

In 2012, he joined the Millon Brussels auction house, where he held the hammer for the jewelry and design sales until April 2018.

With this rich international experience, he then opened his own firm.

Today, Stéphane Cauchies puts his expertise at the service of his clients - whether for the conservation, sale, acquisition or donation of works of art - with rigor, discretion and a real passion for the enhancement of heritage.
